You can delete your YLS account and associated personal data at any time.
In the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the steps.
On the web: visit /account-deletion and submit a deletion request using the email associated with your account.
When your deletion request is processed, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the personal data associated with your account - including your profile, contact details, social links, the content you authored, uploaded media, and your notification and recognition records - subject to the exceptions below.
We may retain limited data where necessary for security and fraud prevention, to resolve disputes, or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, for as long as required and no longer.
Where your participation forms part of the organisation’s historical records (for example, an event your chapter ran), we may retain those organisational records in a form that no longer identifies you.
If you hold an organisational role (for example, an office-holder or administrator), that role must be handed over or reassigned before your account can be deleted, so the organisation is not left without a required role-holder.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Any public profile is unpublished and removed from caches, and any issued credentials cease to verify as active. Deactivating or simply logging out is not deletion.
